iElements Periodic Table App Reviews

Thanks for the update!!

The application is absolutely perfect now that you can type the name of the elements! Will strongly recommend this application!

size...

I have a 13" macbook pro, and while the table fits well on the screen, the info window does not. It is a little too long and the isotopes section is hidden (goes behind the dock and off the screen). If it could scroll up and down, it would me MUCH more useful. Otherwise it is a great app; I highly recommend it. I even find myself going into it just to read about elements (for fun) :)

A++

All the information you need, and then some! Great design, too. Extremely handy app. Love it!

Wonderful

This is a very easy to use, interactive and informitave table of the elements. It is very helpful to just hover over an element and get it’s atomic weight and other statistics. Highly recommended.

woth every penny

this is the perfect add on i need for chemistry class, thanks a million, i love the molar mass being listed! keep it up

Useful

It is extremly useful but I would like it to be full screen or even a little larger. Yet, it helps in everyday calculations and facts. Thanks!

Good app

Have to say this app is useful. But when will the version with simplified Chinese come out?Im very looking forward to it.

5 Stars Well Deserved

This application is so good! It will help you save a TON of time, otherwise spent searching the web for element properties. Everything is right at your fingertips: molar mass, electronegativity, melting/boiling point, electronic configuration, proton/neutron count, electron spn, and so much more. It even includes a picture of each element - very nice to see what these may look like in real life. Theres a multi-language selector (English, Mandarin, Russian, Japanese, Arabic, German, French, Spanish, Swedish, Portugese, Polish, Italian) very nice for people that may have to communicate from one language to another. Theres also a Wikipedia button that takes you right to the Wikipedia entry relevant to the element youre currently viewing. Very nice, further saves time. If youre a high school or college student, this app will be enormously beneficial to you. It is well worth the money. P.S. "Properties Inspector" is now completely functional (v1.2). Thanks to developer for bringing a very quick fix. P.P.S. The search feature (v1.3) is very helpful if you know the element name but not its symbol.

Awesome program!

I find iElements to be indispensable to my chemistry-related work… great App organization, useful graphics, a wonderful program! Highly recommended!

Very impressed!!!!

In my old review I really did not like the app, it seemed slow and pointless as I could look all of this up online in about the same time. I complained about not being able to search for an element, which would be a big plus in periodic program, and what-do-you-know, a short time later I see an update that said something like search added with com f. If thats not good customer service I dont know what is!! My old review... Very unimpressed. I think I could probably find all this info online in another two seconds, its not bad… but you cannot search for an element, which is time consuming (simply hitting Com. F to find an element would be very nice), and it is a small fraction of my 27 imacs screen...

Super handy in a chemistry class

I use this for my chemistry assignments. It has a clean layout and is very complete. As far as a periodic table reference goes, this is the best in the app store. So, if you do anything related to chemistry, this app will be valuable to you.

It is ok...

The element info bars position cant move move. This ruins the app for me. Must Fix!!!!!

Great reference

Not only has this helped me in my chemistry class, but I appreciate the ability to search for an element by name if you have trouble finding it on the table. I also like how they provided the images (when available) of the elements themselves, in addition to providing information about oxidation states, physical properties, and isotopes. You can also customize the view you have of the table itself (i.e. color-coding it by element type, state, origin, discovery date, or radioactivity, etc.) which I really enjoy because I can learn more about the elements, their significance, and their relationship to each other. You can also choose to view the name of an element in a different language, and theres even a Wikipedia link imbedded in the Properties Inspector that will take you to the Wikipedia page for that particular element.

Very thorough and informative

I wish wed had things like this when I learned chemistry in the 1980s. When its just a 2-D image hanging on the classroom wall, the periodic table looks nice, but looks almost *too* perfect and abstract. This app really clarifies how it all fits together. It should be a showcase app for the Mac.

Very Useful

This is a really good app that allows me to look up different properties of elements at my disposal. I use this for my chemistry, biology, and physics classes. Every element has all of the standard periodic table stats with additional information. Great app.

Worth it.

Really useful app, especially for someone takng a chemistry class in high school or college. Worth the $2.

A must for any Chem student!

This is by far the best periodic table app in the App Store. The app is very well designed and does a nice job of presenting information without getting in your way. Fully worth the $2.

The level of information is very basic and it lacks content

This application is a regurgitation of the program elements. The program lacks many features that should be added to be competitive and uptodate. There are no radioistope list, which are essential in nuclear chemistry. There are no physicochemical parameters. No binding energies. No elastic properties if any. Many things ae missing and the list can go on. 2 dollars wasted.

Great Start

I like the app, has great potential. Im sure the developers are busy working on great features. I would like to see GUI improvements to create a more Apple-like experience. For example, a search bar at the top of the table to quickly highlight result via keywords like element names and type.

Great application

one very useful feature to add will be the the comparison of two elements Select two elements, display the types of bonds formed, as well as differences in properties
